Create a Table

The add command

In this first video of a six-part series, we learn about the GDL command "add". With it, we create a simple parametric table as a foundation for the subsequent videos. The series teaches the basics of creating your own GDL elements.

Parameters A, B, ZZYZX

In the second video of the series, we learn about the parameters A, B, and ZZYZX. We expand our table from the first video with Archicad's standard parameters to make it flexibly adjustable. With the block & add commands and the basic knowledge of parametrics, you can create your own parametric element after this video.

GUID

In this video, we learn about the GUID (Global Unique Identifier) with Main-ID and Revision-ID.

Custom Parameters

In this video, we learn how to create custom parameters for our GDL element. Instead of only using the standard parameters A, B, and ZZYZX, we can define our own parameters with meaningful names. This not only makes the element more user-friendly but also enables better organization of parameter values. We extend our table with parameters such as "table top height," "leg width," and other specific dimensions that can be adjusted directly in the parameter dialog.

2D Script

In this video, we learn about the 2D script. By directly defining the 2D representation, we avoid the automatic projection from the 3D script and can better control the conceptual representation.

Representation

In this video, we learn about graphical parameters. We make surfaces, line types, and pen colors available as parameters, thereby completing our parametric element.
